I have the black 5-piece briggs satin flatware set and after three washes in the dishwasher, they started tarnishing, so if your looking to buy flatware, stay away from West Elm.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01449859808874934728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660999913264289576.post-89084058104534135132019-12-10T10:26:02.438-06:002019-12-10T10:26:02.438-06:00Same problem with my West Elm gold flatware - rust...Same problem with my West Elm gold flatware - rust spots, the gold is totally worn off some pieces (like the spoons). A complete disappointment for having spent so much money (10 sets). The flatware is made of cheap 18/0 stainless steel. The zero means zero nickel, which means zero chance of them not rusting. The box says "Dishwasher safe" so the product is clearly not fit for purpose.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04513537975767753691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660999913264289576.post-84333629887220674192014-12-10T21:06:07.461-06:002014-12-10T21:06:07.461-06:00Had the exact same thing happen to me in addition ...Had the exact same thing happen to me in addition to the gold wearing off. I called West Elm and they said I had to bring it back to the store to return it and that they would definitely take it back. But the manager refused to take them back without a receipt. West Elm puts out cheaply produced, disposable products AND has poor customer service. I'd rather take my $ to Ikea, thanks. sleepswimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12223716252924303237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660999913264289576.post-28913641764886000872014-01-06T14:59:25.587-06:002014-01-06T14:59:25.587-06:00For what it's worth, I waited for Horchow'...For what it's worth, I waited for Horchow's hammered flatware to go on sale...I probably spent about the same as you. Or even a customer service rep that said "I'll make sure this feedback goes straight to our internal team..." or something like that and maybe some empathy that I wasted my money. Instead just a discount to buy more faulty flatware. And, West Elm has ignored me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram...such a shame. I got them replaced, but now I'm seeing that those three pieces weren't an aberration, a bunch of the pieces are tarnishing. It's such a disappointment, I assumed that the price would be an accurate indication of the quality, but I guess not. Mashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04587082223242719874noreply@blogger.com
