Goodness, all spring and summer I went on and on about that velvet headboard I was going to own someday. I even blogged about velvet headboards here and here. Well, I totally changed direction this weekend. I found out that a bed I had been admiring for over a year at a local store in Fredericksburg was discounted 60 percent off! Yes, it is now mine {and I am now officially on a shopping hiatus}. I love the lines of the bed and the cypress wood is just so pretty in person-it is really one of those pieces I will keep the rest of my life-it's a classic. The photo does not do it justice. Now, I have to rethink my whole bedroom strategy.
When I am ready to redo my bedding, do you think I should still go with the white bedding here as I had planned for a clean and classic look, or do you think a pop of color like this would be better? My home decor notebook needs new direction and I would appreciate the help!
This is a similar bed from the same store already styled for inspiration. I do love the contrast of white on the wood...
I love the inspiration photo and I love that headboard! I think it would be great with white bedding (although I am a huge fan of all things white!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Niki-I appreciate your help!
DeleteI love this headboard! I think you can do white bedding but throw in some colorful decorative pillows, that way you get the best of both worlds! Can't wait to see what you come up with. :)

Thanks so much Yi-chia! I think that is a great idea!
DeleteMy vote is white... but then again, my bedding is all white so I may be considered biased. :D I will say though, you will never get tired of it because it's classic so that helped me because I splurged and got higher thread count sheets, a nicer duvet, etc because I knew I wouldn't get sick of it. Either one is going to look great because that headboard is AMAAAZZZINGG!! Can't wait to see how you style everything!

Thanks Amanda...I am definitely leaning towards white!
DeleteI don't even HAVE a headboard, but now that I've realized how great it can make a room look, I want one... haha. It's hard to say what I'd do with it, though.
ReplyDeleteHA-yes, you need one! A few years back I bought a vintage velvet headboard for $50, had it cleaned, and it was great for a while. :)
