My Current Obsession: Spring in Tweed

Since it's March next week and hovering around 60 degrees in Texas, I've decided it's Spring. At J. Crew last weekend I was playing dress up and I ran across this striped 3/4 sleeve length top in mint, navy and tweed-looking taupe color.

I've noticed quite a bit at the store is in tweed, which I dismissed at first. But upon second look, the color palates are quite beautiful with the fabric. And although my striped top is faux tweed, you get the same look. Now, as soon as my white jeans are back from the tailor, I'm breaking the "white jeans" rules and pairing them with some tweed.

My Current Obsession: Tech in Color

I love color. So much that I recently realized I don't own one single little black dress. But I have dresses that are in oranges, greens, red and blue stripe, mint green...you name it. This also spills over into my tech accessory life as well. Obviously my standby accessory color is leopard. But, when that isn't available, my mind wanders to pink, orange, lavender, teal and yellow! That is definitely the case with Urban Ears headphones {I own teal and lavender} and my Native Union Pop Phone {I own, orange, pink and light blue}. With the change of seasons, there might be the need for change of color...possibly red?!

My Current Obsession: Polka Dots

I always liked polka dots but right now I am loving polka dots! I just got these flip flops, which smell like bubble gum by the way. And, I ordered two pairs of polka dot shorts from Old Navy. Definitely obsessed!

My Current Obsession: Bar Carts

Maybe it is the Mad Men effect, but I am totally digging bar carts. They look extra special when paired with beautiful art and accessories-it really makes a statement! I hope in my next home to have space for one of these. And, here is a great How-To from Glitter Guide on putting together the perfect bar cart. I think mine will start with vintage champagne glasses!

My Current Obsession: Statement Earrings

Sometimes, just sometimes, I skip the big necklace and go for statement earrings. This happens a lot more in the summer when I have my hair up in a big bun and don't want anything on my neck. My Current Obsession: Naughty Betty Notepads

There is nothing a glass of wine and a flat iron can't fix.

Enough with the damn juice boxes mommy needs a cocktail.

My Current Obsession: Ikat Everything

I am pretty much loving everything Ikat right now, especially these Tom's Wedges, and there is a plethora of the print to choose from...from Gap to Anthropologie.

I love the way the Ikat skirt below is styled with a chambray top and leopard belt-although it isn't very practical for my life (we can't layer in Texas in the summer). A simpler approach for me would be to add one of the Ikat bags with a cotton summer dress (plus they are really affordable!).

My Current Obsession: Embroidered Mexican Shirt

When I was in elementary school, we frequented Texas border towns on our vacations-it was a different time back then. I remember the colors, the music, the amazing food and always buying Canel's gum from kids on the street. 

I also clearly remember buying and wearing the beautiful lightweight cotton embroidered Mexican dresses. With summer approaching, I am thinking I need to take a trip to San Antonio to the market to pick up a shirt in the same style as the dresses I wore when I was young. I found some amazing tops like the dresses online here and here. They are so colorful!

My Current Obsession: Lauren Conrad Goes Pink

Right now, I am pretty thankful for Kevin Murphy color bugs (below), or I might be going pink. For real. I LOVE Lauren Conrad's hair-and faithfully follow The Beauty Department blog for hair ideas. Through that site I found the magical tutorial that makes my hair have perfect LC curls in not a lot of time. My colorist wouldn't dare do this to me, so this is my obsession/daydream for today with orange color bug in hand. So, tell me, would you go pink?!
