I have been on a bender trying to cute'ify my work space. It is still a work in progress but so far got the iMac, the T-Rex planter and the West Elm Parsons desk. As I continually search for more inspiration I stumbled across one of the most fun and unique ideas on the Made By Girl blog that totally suited me: the Native Union phone holder.

Amazing idea, right?! Like a lot of people these days, my landline has been gone for a while and I only use a mobile. I purchased a couple of Native Union phones around the holidays (pink, orange and sky blue)-I just find it easier talking for long periods on a handset versus my iPhone. If you don't have one...get one! But, beware, there are so many colors, you may end up with multiples.

To recreate this look, I purchased a hook at Wal-Mart in the hardware department-it looks exactly the same and was under $3. Doesn't my work-in-progress desk just look so much cuter and "official" with my phone?!

Day 66, When I Was 10

So I clearly remember my Easy Bake Oven from when I was a kid. That and my Snoopy Snow Cone Machine...well I ran across the Easy Bake Oven app...SO wrong! I mean I definitely didn't learn any cooking skills from that thing, but you gotta have the real thing right?!?

How To Save Wet Electronics You Dropped in the Pool/Toilet/Washing Machine

It is summer...you are lounging by the pool taking a photo for Facebook and BAM...you drop your iPhone in the water. Enter panic and diving in the water only to think of a million things you can do to fix it. Whether it is your cell phone, iPod or any other electronic device, we have all been there.  

So, I learned a trick from my good friend Daniel that may or may not work for you, depending on the damage and how long it is in the water-but it is worth a try.

Step 1: Do NOT attempt to turn your phone on!

Step 2: Take the battery out of your phone.

Step 3: Grab some rice and a ziplock baggie.

Step 4: Put your phone and battery in the baggie with the rice and leave it.

Step 5: Leave your phone alone (yes, don't touch!) for 2-3 days and then take it out and put your phone back together

Hopefully it works for you like it did for my friend! It didn't work for the person I pulled this image below from (http://bit.ly/lJ10Fi) but it seems she gained some peace and perspective by not having a phone.

Call Me Veruca

I waited in line for 3 hours for a darn Apple iPhone and got the last white one. There were tons of kids in line before us and I was going to turn all Veruca Salt on that place if a 10-year-old got one and I didn't.

This photo is after the store had been open about an hour - everyone at this point had packed their air mattresses and were peering through the windows eagerly awaiting their new phone.
